Call For Applications – Global Surgery Small Grants 2020/21
The RCS Global Surgery Small Grants Scheme provides start-up/seed funding to support the development or implementation of capacity-building projects that strengthen or improve access to safe, affordable and timely surgical care low and middle-income countries (LMICs). Projects must be needs driven, led by local requirements and lead to sustainable improvements in the delivery of surgical care.
Applications may be for new projects or existing programmes. Preference will be given to applications that lead to a longer-term collaboration with the RCS and relate to the theme Safer Surgery.
Who can apply?
Healthcare institutions based in countries identified as World Bank Low Income and Lower Middle Income Countries.
UK based individuals and healthcare institutions may be included as partners and may provide support in the design and implementation of a project however, all applications must be submitted by an institution based in the country where the project will take place.
Awards
Grants will be awarded up to GBP 5,000.
Grants will be paid by bank transfer in GB pounds sterling in two installments; 75% prior to commencement of the project, and the balance paid upon completion and submission of a written report.
Closing date for Applications
Applications will close on Friday 1st May.
Grant awardees will be announced on Friday 5th June.
