Welcome to the VASSA monthly feature, where we delve into intriguing vascular cases that challenge conventional understanding and showcase innovative approaches to treatment.
Each month, VASSA brings you a special vascular case study, carefully curated and presented either as a comprehensive video or an engaging PowerPoint presentation. These cases serve as valuable educational resources for our members, providing insights into complex vascular conditions, diagnostic dilemmas, and the latest advancements in therapeutic interventions.

The World Federation of Vascular Societies (WFVS) is proud to announce two new international vascular fellowships designed to enhance global collaboration, education, and innovation in vascular and endovascular surgery.
WFVS–Houston Methodist International Fellowship (Houston, Texas, USA)
In partnership with the Houston Methodist DeBakey Heart & Vascular Center, this 12-month customizable fellowship offers a unique opportunity for non-U.S. vascular surgeons or senior trainees to engage in research, advanced imaging, and educational training. Fellows will work under the guidance of Dr. Alan Lumsden and participate in simulation-based training, complex case observation, and international outreach through educational media.
Full program details and application form.
WFVS–Jikei University International Fellowship (Tokyo, Japan)
In collaboration with Jikei University Hospital, this 3-month immersive experience under the leadership of Professor Takao Ohki provides hands-on surgical observation, clinical research, and the opportunity to participate in daily vascular cases and outpatient clinics. Fellows must be self-funded and have at least one year of prior vascular surgery experience.
ESVS 2025
Anyone can submit a session idea for #ESVS2025’s scientific programme! We only need a catchy title and a few sentences to describe the session idea – the best ideas will be asked to submit a formal proposal and get the opportunity to co-organise the session alongside the ESVS Programme Committee.
We’re hoping to receive ideas from all over Europe to make sure the content is relevant for your communities. Do you think you could share the news in your website and/or via your email list?
Submissions are open here: https://esvs.org/blog/2024/11/15/your-ideas-your-stage-lets-shape-the-esvs-annual-meeting-together/.
The submissions platform closes on the 27th of November at 23:59 CET.
